Blue
Ribbon
Getting
a Blue Ribbon award from Google™ for your model can never be guaranteed and we
make no claims to this effect. What we do say is that we make the highest quality
models available anywhere so you will have the best chance possible of
getting that little blue ribbon next to your model and a place in the 3D Buildings
Layer.
Not being awarded the Blue Ribbon means nothing about the quality
of the model in question. Many of the most detailed models available are simply
more than Google Earth can handle at this moment in time and will most likely
be included as the Google Earth software improves over time.
If your
model is lucky enough to be awarded the 'Blue Ribbon' here are some things you
should know:
The
'3D Buildings Layer' that you will find inside Google Earth™ does not show
full high-definition versions of 'Blue Ribbon' models and offers more of an
abstract representation only. To make sure that large numbers of models
can be rendered simultaneously, Google™ subjects models to further automatic
server-side file compression. This file compression offers unpredictable
results but the geometric essences of buildings are usually left intact. Naturally
viewers can click these more primitive models and download full high-definition
versions directly from Google's 3D Warehouse.
When your model is
downloaded in conjunction with your GeoDock™ it will be shown at full resolution
along with your additional KML content, this will be available immediately
on the build completion of your GeoDock™. Not having a Blue Ribbon makes no
difference at all to your GeoDock's efficiency and is really just a little
bit of free promotion (and possibly additional bragging rights).
Here
at earthHD™ we build our models with the highest resolution texturing and geometry
possible; in doing so we keep them future-proof. Google Earth™ is under constant
development and bigger and better versions of the software are made freely available
to millions of users annually. Rather than needing to rebuild your model to keep
up with these improvements, we think it best to build the highest quality models
from day one, and this is what earthHD stands for.
Good Luck
with your 'Blue Ribbon'
