GeoDock Foundation Logo

A few things you might like to know before we begin the overview:

All graphic elements you see on these pages are for demonstration purposes only (including general colour schemes). Your GeoDock will be unique to your business as all elements are hand built based on the design profile we develop for your business.

GeoDock Foundation Only £69Normal webpages use a mark-up language called HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language); with GeoDock™ we use a mark-up language called KML 2.2 (Keyhole Mark-up Langauge). KML 2.2 offers us the ability to create advanced geospatial data visualization with products like GeoDock™.

Only £69* Our price covers the design, compilation and registration (within the Google Earth™ community) of your GeoDock™ based on your business having existing graphic material for us to use as reference. This price covers a single example of all the features you see demonstrated on this page and not multiple individual features. Multiple individual features can be added to your GeoDock™ at any time during or after completion for a small additional fee. The majority of business's will only need one instance of individual features for maximum impact.
* Our price is based on your business already having some digital content for us to use as design reference, e.g. website, web page etc. Starting with a blank canvas will incur nominal additional design fees.

Your GeoDock™ will be unique to your business in every way. Lets take a look at some of the exciting KML 2.2 features you can expect from your GeoDock™.

Fully Integrated with Google Maps and Google Earth

You get access to the full feature set of KML 2.2 with all GeoDock™ packages. Below you will find a selection of the most useful features for any modern business.

Custom Banner Overlay:
Offers a chance to get your business's promotional graphic in a premium position inside the main viewing window. We use special visual techniques (beveled edging, alpha-transparent drop shadows and colour separation) to make sure your graphic has the appearance of being attached to the viewing window and not the map itself. Full alpha-transparency allows us to create shaped banners, so if oblong isn't your thing we'll see what we can do.

Placemark:
Shows the exact location of your business to the viewer in the form of a unique graphic pointer. As with all graphic elements the placemark's appearance will mirror the design profile we develop for your GeoDock as a whole. Clicking this placemark inside Google Maps™ and Google Earth™ will display a business information balloon with a uniquly tailored design.

Contact Panel Overlay:
We can place overlay panels anywhere around the edge of the viewing area but this location offers a great way of pushing contact details into the mapping area without distracting the viewer. Mini overlays like this also allow us to highlight further business details contained inside the left 'Places' panel inside Google Earth™ and the 'Search Results' panel inside Google Maps™. When viewed inside Google Earth™ this screen overlay can activate a separate information balloon (activated from a link inside the 'Places' panel) offering refined contact details.

Search Optimized Information Panel:
Inside Google Maps this information panel offers instant details about your business inside the left 'Search Results' panel. All information panels are developed to offer search engines core details about your business that can be indexed easily. Inside the KML file that forms the foundation of your GeoDock™ we take great care to synchronize text content from information panels and balloons with HTML based content you may have on external web pages. The overall layout of information panels and balloons is governed by the sub-set of HTML features that we are able to use with KML.

'The most innovative way to get your business seen'

And There's More!

There are many more advanced KML features that we incorporate into your GeoDock™. Our carefully crafted KML files are designed to increase the visibility of your GeoDock with search engines at the same time increasing the viewer's understanding of your business.

Atom Feeds:
When search engines such as Google™ index the Internet they can now index information that has been geographically tagged. This means searchers can find your GeoDock™ (or individual features inside your GeoDock) as part of their geo search results. We can even offer you the Atom-code and instructions to include this feature on HTML webpages where your GeoDock will be linked from, tagging this page geographically as well.

Zone Overlay:
Lets say you have a business that offers a delivery service or has call out charges that vary depending on the distance from your business premises. Well, 'Zone Overlays' offer you the ultimate way to communicate these charges to customers in a visual landscape. A semi transparent, colour coded graphic overlay is created and placed right on the map. Your customers just type in their address and see which colour they fall under. Zone Overlays are custom designed for your business along with a linked information balloon; overlays can be any shape or colour you desire.
